The Big Homely Space by curator Naomi Brusselman brings together stimulating artworks with a calming and welcoming environment. The exhibition was in the middle of Rotterdam in Witte de Withstreet one of the busiest streets. My challenge was to create a space that gives you a calm experience with spots to take a break.

Introducing new shapes to break up the angular space and to draw the works of art in the space together. The largest contribution to this was the steel curved curtain system that shielded the hustle and bustle from the street, where it attracted the interest of passers-by. Choosing the location of the artworks in the space ensured that each work by an artist had its own island. Where you could view the works of art from a street bench, lying on a cushion, or looking at a dialogue between too screens from a modular block system.
